Solution: for some reason, the system couldn't find ices, so I just gave the full path instead of just 'ices' for the command - and boom it worked.

Is there a command line cmnd that can be run that will return wether or not a particular mount in icecast is active? Or alternatively if a particular stream from ices is running?

In Chrome the stream will not play natively (with the stream URL entered in the address bar) - it does seems to recognize that there is media to play, but nothing ...
