Hi guys , new to the forum and to live streaming i have some questions i need someone to answer and the guys who i have building my site are stuck when it comes to live streaming , as for me i know nothing at all about it, so hear goes.
Justin tv in the USA are broadcasting 40+ Live streaming webcams 24/7 using flash , they are getting about 3000-5000 hits at one time yet seem to have no backing or sponsership, am i right in thinking the amount of bandwidth this site is using would look something like 10TB a month?
This would cost ££££££££ a month to run the site?
Obviously they are not paying this , so could somebody enlighten me towards how they are doing it on such a budget..
I want to build a site with 5 live streaming cameras and (more to come) a bit like Justin Tv i want to be able to broadcast around the clock 7 days a week as and when i please (but not 24/7)..
when the site is launched i expect to get between 1000 and 5000 hits per day and the users will be watching for no more than 60 minutes.
could someone tell me the best way and cheapest way to do it using Flash
Will i need my own dedicated server (looking at MT media temple)
how fast will my internet connection need to be?
what tools will i need to set something like this up , sorfware/hardware.
please can someone help us build a monster.
