|

Since I lost the account for the last thread and the urls are wrong.
By popular demand, heres a new one!
Download the following file from one of the links:
http://www.mediafire.com/?mcyjwmjijzn
http://files.pynguins.com/users/richie/flashicecast.zip
If you have hosting, feel free to mirror these files and post the link.
I have made a free and open source flash client. It was coded from scrach for my website but can be customised to work with anyones.
I dont care what anyone does with it.. they can customise/improve/sell/whatever it Smile
READ THIS GUIDE CAREFULLY AND TAKE YOUR TIME!
1 ) You need Macromedia Flash (Not flash player), you can get that here: http://www.adobe.com/go/tryflash
2 ) Open notepad and put this PHP Source Code into notepad:
<?php
header("Content-Type: text/xml");
$data = file_get_contents("http://admin:myicecastpass@mywebsite.com:8877/admin/stats");
echo $data;
?>
3 ) change:
myicecastpass to your icecast password
mywebsite to your website address
8877 to your icecast server port number
4 ) Save the file as stats.php and upload to your website (Assuming you have a website host that supports PHP, Email them if your not sure).
5 ) Get crossdomain.xml from the zip and upload that to your website (Fixes a flash security bug).
You might want to edit
<!-- http://www.richieward.com/crossdomain.xml -->
at the top of crossdomain.xml to your website address.
6 ) Open the source code file in Macromedia Flash... its the .fla in the zip.
7 ) Edit the actionscript sourcecode as shown in the jpg file in the zip.
8 ) Go to File --> Publish and upload the swf file.
If you have any use for this.. I would like to hear about it.. I posted this thread in the hope that it will be useful Smile
Also you can donate some improvements and sourcecode fixes to me if you want. |

Rich,
just found this thread through a forum search and I cannot get the links to work, did you pull them? I recently set up a dedicated server to use with IceCast along with some video converter software but have a few things I am trying to investigate before I go live with the new service. If somehow you could get those links back up it would be very helpful for me moving forward. |

Or could offer some direction as to where one might get a flash source client... paid, or preferably free:), open source and customisable. |
