Hi Karl
To be able to use the command-auth-functionality i updated one of my servers from the non-kh build to KH6.
Setup is as following: Two Sites with one masterserver each, servers are connecting to both and failovering to the other if the main fails.
Now with the KH6-Version, i have two problems: One (404-Status) seems to be fixed according a git-commit, the other is still unclear to me:
after a while running (and serving good, up to 2k listeners), the service just crashes. no log-entry (the last is a "normal" one), no system-log entry, nothing. do you know if kh6 is unstable or do you think the problem is on my system?
I'm using centos6, all necessary things like ulimit are done. as mentioned, the server was running with the non-kh version and it handled about 3k listeners max.
thank you!

kh7 was release just a few days ago, it fixes all known issues reported. I know the current code handles up to 20k listeners.
crash cases are hard to specifically identify unless you only have 1 change but I have closed out some potential issues with races which can have random effects, such as corrupting memory leading to a crash. Some mpeg parsing issues were also fixed but I do not know whether it would apply in your case. Of all the 2.3.3-kh set I would say kh7 is definitely the one to go for.

Thank you for your response, Karl!
I just updated but i get confused if i check out /admin/stats.xsl. This is (still) showing <server_id>Icecast 2.3.3-kh6</server_id>. Even though "icecast -v" in the console displays Icecast 2.3.3-kh7-41-ga47a870. I guess the second version is the one i have now installed, right?
i'll give it a try and will report problems or success.
Thanks

that would indicate that the server has been installed but not restarted. The stats file is filled from the running server, but you can run the -v on the new install to get the version without affecting one that is already running.

It worked out correctly with the KH7-Version, thank you! This Topic can be closed.
