Hi All.
I am trying to get my icecast feed to load quicker, i am gettng an 5 od second delay on first play. is this normal.
I have a icecast streaming.
I will that the player start very quickly.
Can some one tell me off it,s possible

sounds like you have no burst or at least not a sufficient one for the bitrate and prebuffer settings. The default value is 64 kbytes but you can change that with the <burst-size> tag.

Hi Karl,
It does not want to succeed on windows media player the icecast streaming at 128 KB start faster with playing sound.
He doing it though as I put on the bitrate encoder in edcast 64 KB instead of 128 KB.
Lots of icecast streaming start with a small buffering before they start playing.
Is that normal.
I want the windows media player very quickly starts to play without buffering.

hard to determine what the situation is at the moment, I don't know what the prebuffer size is on media player, it could be large. if you use say a queue size of 1Meg and a burst of 512k then you should have a fast starting media player but usually you don't want to have vast amounts sent in the burst as all that does is use memory on the server.
