Hello,
I have icecast 2.3.1 and ices 0.4 installed and working great on my linux box except for one problem. When ices encounters certain songs in my playlist it will stop encoding to icecast. After the song changes to a new song, it resumes encoding again. This can leave a silence gap of 3+ minutes to clients. I have checked my logs and nothing is listed that would indicate a problem. Anyone got a suggestion on this one? Should I tell ices to re-encode all my songs to match on the fly? Thanks. |

you may have some broken MP3s, ie something that doesn't decode properly. You just have to work out which ones in such a case then check them

Thats what I figured was going on but each of the skipped song plays fine when loaded directly into a player. I think the encoding on some of the songs is different enough that after the song changes that the client doesnt like the new bitrate and doesnt play it. I told ices to re-encode the songs to all match 192 bitrate and its been going for hours. Think that might do it. Thanks. |
