hey there everybody,
just wondering if i gotta do some special thing
in my edit file in icecast
2.3 to make it be visable in the stream YP
directory or not ?? |

the server needs to be defined in the xml, eg dir.xiph.org and not uncommented, then the stream has to be marked public, eg either by the source client defining that or by specifying certain setting in <mount>. The YP servers can still prevent listing if they cannot access icecast, this is often down to a misconfigured <hostname> or a firewall blocking access.

Turning a firewall off is a bad idea, especially with windows. You just need to allow the icecast port through.

Most of that is just comments, ie ignored, hostname is set to some IP and port is 8000, you have commented out the <directory> settings so icecast isn't even going to attempt to list on any YP. Maybe that is the problem, misconfiguration.
