Howdy. I tried my hand at some video streaming today, and I have a celeron processor. Its running FC4, completely up to date. Whenver I launch ezstream, no matter the bitrate, all clients are having buffer issues. Its a great connection, so I know its not that. I did ps -aux to check it out, and look at what I found...

99.8% of CPU being used by FFMPEG2THEORA. For now, I am going to convert the videos to .ogg first and then stream them. But, I would like to fix this issue.
Please, someone help me! These video forums kind of look dead though... |

The CPU is probably max'd out because of the encoder libs, while I don't know the version you have installed, I don't think there's been much performance tuning. Look on the theora mailing list archives for updates on what you have installed.
