I have listener authentication working for the most part. However if using Windows Media Player as the default for m3u files it will throw an error message when attempting to access the stream through Icecast's "auth" page. Bascially WMP doesn't like URL's in the format http://username:password@myhostname:8000/mymountpoint
However, if I type the URL http://myhostname:8000/mymountpoint or put that in a normal m3u file it will prompt for a user name and password (as does Winamp also) and is quite happy that way. I would really prefer to use the built-in authorization web form. Is there a way to make this work with both WMP and Winamp using th auth web page? |

If wmp is unable to handle the complete url format then there isn't much we can do about it, however that may only be limited to the m3u format and not asx which is of course the MS-way for doing it.

That's what I figured. Good ol' WMP not playing nicely with everybody else. Thanks for the info. |
