That should be set from the broadcasting program that you use

in 2.3rc1 and later, you should be able to specify <mp3-metadata-interval>0</mp3-metadata-interval> within the <mount>. This will avoid sending shoutcast style metadata to the listener even if requested.

Hi,

I'm using 2.3.0 and after adding <mp3-metadata-interval>0</mp3-metadata-interval>.. the Icecast server will crash. Any clue?

Anything that can cause icecast to crash is considered a serious bug.

Can you please open a bug report at http://bugs.xiph.org/ about this? Please include a copy of your config file (with passwords removed, obviously), and details about what sort of system you're running it on (OS, architecture, etc.)

not from that description, a relay of an mp3 stream here works as expected, no crashes. You could send me the xml and error log (level 4) if it's repeatable.
