|
|
Hi there,
I am posting this for any one who would like to see an option in Icecast where you can take one stream, ie OGG, and then convert it to another format MP3 (ASX) or MMS all inside the administrator area of Icecast! This would be very useful because most Macintosh users that use Traktor 3 or any other casting software don't sometimes have this option? So would it be possible?
Thanks in advance.

Icecast is not a transcoder, you are meant to use some external application to do that. There is also a small fact that as a Xiph project we are mainly concerned about free codecs.

Do you know of any ways then of converting an OGG to ASX either through Mac or via another service running in parallel with Icecast? Taking that stream and transcoding it? |

I'm fairly sure that asx is just a playlist format so conversion is not possible. If however you meant a windows media type stream then icecast won't handle it
