I came across this randomly a few weeks back, and found it to be excellent.
From the site:
JOrbis' Homepage wrote: |
JOrbis is a pure Java Ogg Vorbis decoder.
JOrbis accepts Ogg Vorbis bitstreams and decodes them to raw PCM. |
JOrbis takes an Ogg Vorbis bitstreams and decodes them to raw PCM for playback, and this occurs all within your web browser.
The only requirement? Java 1.4.x or higher.
When I use it, I just use the form in the website to listen. I pop in my stream's address (without the .m3u!!!) and tune in for a while.
Yes, this will use YOUR bandwidth, NOT theirs. Their bandwidth is used to stream the Java object and thats it.
Additionally it also uses YOUR computer's CPU time to decode, so don't think the site is going to shut down when too many people use it.
A very handy tool for:
(1) iTunes users (blast you Apple and your non-supporting OGG ways) or others without an OGG compatible player.
(2) Less-than-savvy PC users ("What's an MP3? I double click on my music and it plays!")
(3) People just too lazy in general. A simple link like one of these all point to different streams. |
