I have a strange problem. I am trying to serve an OggFLAC stream on a local 100 MB LAN. Previously I have succesfully used the same setup for Ogg Vorbis streams without problems.

At first it works fine, but OggFLAC makes Icecast gradually use more CPU until the usage is maxed out and the program doesn't work anymore. This happens in a couple of minutes. The bitrate of the OggFLAC stream varies between about 700-1000 kbps.

An Ogg Vorbis stream at -q10 (about 400-550 kbps) doesn't have this problem. The CPU usage is close to zero and doesn't change over time.

Is there any setting in the configuration file that could be tweaked for avoiding this problem?

So far I have tested this only with one local host connection on a P4/Win XP SP2.

I haven't done a recent win32 build of trunk but can you try the same setup on kh25 win32 to see if the same thing occurs (the build is at the homepage reference below). I suspect it's a memory leak that has already been fixed in trunk but until I do a win32 build of trunk I can only suggest trying on kh25.

Thanks for your tip.

The kh25 win32 build seems work fine with an OggFLAC stream. The CPU value stays near zero and the memory usage is about 8 MB.

BTW, the regular version indeed uses more memory as time goes by, but when the CPU usage hits the maximum the memory usage is not yet more than 40 to 50 MB of the available about 550-600 MB (according to what the Windows Task Manager reports).

However, my setup works fine now. Thanks again.
