|
|
I just got oddcast working with ice. The only way I could get it to work is to leave the bitrate settings to the default in the encoder of oddcast. It is currently set at 128 kbps. I am streaming a scanner feed so the quality doesnt have to be superb. Id like to lower the BR to 16 kbps but any time i make adjustments to this is get a error with lame_enc.dll. Any ideas why this is doing this, or is this just a bug in oddcast. Using streamcast I was able to stream it at 16 kbps. |

usually this sort of problem is because you are asking too much of the codec for compression given the settings. eg you will not get an mp3 at 16kbps if you are wanting 44.1khz stereo, for that bitrate you are really wanting something like 16khz mono.
