Hello,
I am missing the following to simplify the management of relays:
If one Icecast relays all streams vie master-relay of another icecast, the client-icecast should send creditials when issuing the actual relay-request. The master-server should in this case send the cluster-password (and maybe other settings configured in <mount>) alongside the other metadata to the client-icecast. The Client-Icecast uses this data of course accordingly.
Another small issue/bug: The stats-part (the curl -X STATS-thing) does not output the cluster_password. Also there may be another account for the stats, to allow people not to own the server, but to grab the stats.

This is a work in progress at the moment, I do have the cluster password sent via the stats and eventually I'll get the slaves to work via this interface instead of polling with streamlist. There's still a few things to resolve before switching and migrating to trunk.
You are correct though the cluster password should really be sent and slaves should use that for YP.
