Greetings,
I am trying to make a box which will do live streaming. It has a M-Audio Delta 44 Soundcard. I have to stream the audio input to an icecast2 server, and a Real Server. Individually, both clients, darkice and producer, work fine. However, if I try to start producer after starting darkice, producer gives an error "Error: Could not open audio device '/dev/dsp'" If I start darkice after starting producer, it doesn't give an error, but the stream doesn't show up on the icecast server status page. So, only one or the other will work. I need both to work.
My question is: How do I use /dev/dsp with two different streaming programs? |

You need ALSA, with the correct plugins. dmix, dsnoop & OSS, this will allow you to share the audio device. |
