i'm trying to setup a radio station website for my cast.
i've managed to setup Wimpy player to play the cast but i can't work out how to pull cast infomation so that i can display the latest song on my website.
preferably using PHP and javascript but i don't know any javascript but i am adept in PHP and just lookin for some pointers or even better some actual code.
thanks in advance |

You can make an xml file that displays only the song name and put it in the "web" directory inside the icecast directory (folder). And you can use an fget() variable function on PHP to "pull out" the data and put it in your site. But please, clearify what's your exact idea, so I can set up a simple code for it. Tell me the folowing:
* Do you have more than one mountpount on the server?
* Do you have access to the server and the config files?
* Do you have access to php-capable hosting?
* Do you have access to cronjobs via your host?
* Do you have ANY knowledge in embedding code to your page(s)? |

1) I have 1 mount point on the server
2) I have access to everything on the server
3) I own the PHP server hosting the website so can edit anything needed
4) Yup can do cron jobs
5) I'm a PHP developer but couldn't work out how to mix it with icecast as i'm new to the whole PHP-XML thing...more a database kinda guy but slowly learning =D
Thanks SO MUCH for offering the help i greatly appreciate it as much as I can. |
