Hello, I'm curently running centova 2.2.6 together icecast 2.3.3 KH 31.13 and no problem at all, so I'd like to know from your experience the behaviour of this new Icecast release, 2.3.3 KH5, along centova, any known issue? Question

Thanks in advance for your replies!

It should not be long before kh6 is out, the kh[1-5] set have been settling down since changing to rwlocks (for better scaling). Regarding centova, there are 3 aspects that are annoying,

1. mountpoint authentication is not handled, I suspect this is related to how centova keeps the conf files updated.

2. queue size is set to 100k by default, very small queues

3. warnings reported by the KH build about the xml can cause confusion for centova. seems to think it means it has terminated instead of reporting it as a startup report.

If you are aware of those then centova works ok

karl.

That much is correct, but we'll be adding authentication support in the near future. While Centova Cast tries to avoid modifying any options in the configuration file that it doesn't directly manage itself, mount points are tricky because they are managed (as a whole) by Centova Cast, so per-mountpoint options do get overwritten, unlike external changes to the rest of the configuration file.

This is a default from a sample configuration file we pulled out of IceCast back when we first added IceCast support. I see that the new default is 512k -- I've updated our skeleton configuration file for the next v3 build.

FYI to our clients, you can modify the Centova Cast skeleton configuration file for IceCast to specify new configuration values for all new streams. The skeleton config file is:

v3: /usr/local/centovacast/system/servers/IceCast/skel/etc/server.conf
v2: /home/centovacast/system/servers/IceCast/skel/etc/server.conf

I've posted on this here.
