Hi all,

My configuration is the following :
- Icecast 2.3.3-kh8 build from source
- one master, one relay
- linux machines, centOS

On master, there is a source, let's call it "A" going to mount point "/A"
This mount point is relayed on the icecast relay, the local mount point is "/local-A"
I'd like to change the encoder for this source without dropping users. I've started this new encoder, and pushed the stream to a new mount point : "/B"
Then I've changed the relay configuration so that "/local-A" is pointing to /B and not to /A anymore. Then I've reloaded the relay with this command (pid is the icecast instance process id) :
kill -s HUP <pid>

But this doesn't work. It seems that you can reload the relay config only if you want to add a mount point or remove one, but not when you want to change the mount point relayed by the local mount point.

Does icecast support switching streams live, and is there something wrong in my procedure ?

Thanks

sounds like the configuration is loaded but you have not actually dropped the stream to trigger a reconnect on to the new server. If the new details are in place and the stream is working on /B then kill the relayed stream via /admin and allow the relay auto re-connect to kick in, listeners will stay connected in such cases.
