Not sure if this is possible, or the right place to ask, but this is what I would like to do:
take the audio from 3-5 TV tuners and then make it available via wifi on the local network (only) so that I can 'tune in' on my phone to listen to any of the audio streams on the phone headset while watching that channel on the tv. i.e. in real time.
is this the sort of thing that icecast can do, or am I barking up completely the wrong tree?
Thanks in advance for any assistance or suggestions. |

sounds like you want a source client for each one feeding a stream to a separate mountpoint and then you can choose the stream for playback, not sure of the sync with the video though.

Thanks karl, I'm a complete newb to this. Would a sound card be a source client? Is this something I can do with icecast? |

A source client is the application that creates the stream for sending to icecast for distribution to listeners. This means the encoding of the stream is remote from icecast. Which source client is best for you is hard to say but you will need DSP input and to encode to the expected format encoding.
