|
|
Hi,
My operating scenario is as follows:
Source (AAC) -> shoutcast server -> icecast server -> shoutcast server
The media type on the first shoutcast server & icecast server both show "aac+". Clients can connect and stream audio from these.
However on the final shoutcast server, the content type is shown as "mpeg" as such clients cannot stream from this.
Connecting the two shoutcast servers back to back works as expected (ie. both show aac) so it is something in the icecast connection which is causing this.
Icecast version is 2.3.2

First shoutcast server reports:
Content Type: audio/aacp
Icecast server reports:
server_type audio/aacp

I think I know what the issue is here. shoutcast will need the content type header to determine the aac aspects and default to mp3 if it cannot but, stupidly, shoutcast does a case sensitive check on the header and fails to set up things correctly when relaying. I added a check in the KH tree to allow a change in the case if the shoutcast useragent was received so 2.3.2 sends out the correct thing but shoutcast misses it. You can either modifiy the icecast code to send the lower case content type (not sure if any other clients will have issues though) or use the KH build to get that to work.

Ok, thanks for the info. I will investigate both options when I get a spare 5 minutes...
