Hi,
I'm an Austrian sysadmin living in South France, and I've been running a small webradio using a combination of MPD and Icecast. Currently I have a playlist of 200 songs running in repeat mode.
I've noticed a strange behaviour. When I'm using XMMS as client, there are exactly three songs in my playlist that will always disconnect me. What I mean: a certain song ends, the next song's ID3 info gets displayed, but XMMS remains silent. I have to manually reconnect (Buffering, etcetera).
I tested it with VLC, and it seems to work. Anyone here already seen anything similar? What's happening?
Cheers,
NK |

When streaming, you have to make sure that each of the tracks are of a similar format. Don't expect a change from mono to stereo or vice versa or changes in samplerate to work at all. Icecast itself won't care as it doesn't decode the stream but the players do.
