I've been looking around for the answer to this with no luck. I'm sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere.
How do I get the Title/Artist to show up in Windows Media Player? I'm using Icecast 2.2.0 streaming mp3. Currently it only shows the server name.
Thanks! |

afaik, you'll have to pay Microsoft a lot of money to implement the shoutcast-style metadata handling, and they never implemented it. The player has to request the sending of metadata before we can send it, as doing so without the player knowing about it will cause playback problems.

Sorry if my question is just like the question from "not professional", but still, as I understand, our clients can listen us in realplyer, winamp,WindowsMedia and others plyers which support streaming, if we use IceCast server? |

correct, the metadata is optionally requested by the player, WMP just never requests it. It doesn't stop the normal audio from being decoded.
