Hello DJs!

I create small private radio with perl play list support from mysql database.
My questions are:
*) how you deal with hour change (exact hour, like 1pm, 2pm)? create new stream with new play list, or there is some way to deal with old one. what is my problem. i want create some radio program and play from 1pm till 2pm just rock songs or something like that, but i guess creating of play list and calculation of time when exact song play in time sehedule might my nightmare and impossible. have you any idea?
*) for linux have some tools (command line, or php, perl package) with i can split mp3 file in parts, example, i now my mp3 file is 3min10sec, but i want play just 2min40sec
