|
|
Hi guys...
I need to be able to stream audio and video to WMP clients.
At the moment we use a WIndows Media Server. But i hate windows.
I have a Fedora Core 6 dedicated server that i want to run Icecast on.
So there are 2 questions that i need answered,
firstly, can WMP handle NSV streams? (Video & Audio)
Secondly, what encoder would i need to use to send the encoded content to an Icecast server?
And thirdly, has anyone done this kind of setup before?
I need to be able to stream to WMP since it is the most used media player i think.
Thanks for your help! |

NSV cannot be viewed with the windows media player.
There is a ActiveX winamp player, but Vista has pretty much screwed up ActiveX, so thats useless.
You can go to www.scvi.net/software.htm for NSV encoding software or for more information on NSV. _________________ Using NSV with Icecast : www.scvi.net/nsvice.htm

Thanks for the info.
Can i rephrase the question by asking, how can i stream audio and video to windows media player clients by staying away from using a windows media server.
Any ideas? |
