|
|
I have recently been looking into broadcasting my own station,,
Everything as far i can tell if going well except one thing.....
Icecast2 Version 2.x is working fine running and tells me everything correct as far i can see
OddcastV3 is where i think the problem is, on configuration if i set "Server Ip" to "localhost" everything works fine. if i change it to my correct IP it cannot connect... i was just wondering why this is and i think this is why people can't connect to e 8[
I know you get this alot but any help will be appreciated
Thanks alot, pez
if more info is needed or picture i can get it for you i hope

The IP a source client uses can be internal (eg localhost), what matters for external access is that the <hostname> is set correctly in the icecast xml and that the external point of access (eg NAT) sends requests to the server. You are probably in a private LAN where the NAT is not bouncing requests back into the LAN when an external IP is requested.

If they get something like a web page then the connection part is working, whether playback works depends on the codecs and the player in use.

Does this give anyone a better idea? people connecting either get timed out, end of playback, or nothing
Another problem maybe.... i can connect to oddcastV3 and Icecast, but not shoutcast :S |

based on the url in the picture, I get a timeout. So Either your firewall is blocking external access or it's not forwarding to the icecast.
