I downloaded IceCast and been trying to get it to work for some hours now but I cant...

Read the Icecast 2 Basic Setup but it doesnt say anything about how to set up .ogg's and if you really need to.

The thing I wanna do is only to stream music through traktor 3.3 and when i start up my IceCast server I cant connect to it through some type of media-player.

Traktor and icecast are on the same machine.
I can connect via Internet Explorer to the stats-file but how do I get the music streaming to work?

The key thing you should always do is check the logs. If traktor is trying to stream and is being rejected by icecast then icecast will report it, if not then check firewall (you say the status page is accessible is that sounds like it's ok) so then check what traktor is doing.

Yeh, I checked the log and apperently traktor cant access mystream.ogg and that is no surprise since I have no mount-point named mystream.ogg since I havnt found out how to make one Rolling Eyes

So I guess when I figure out how to make a mount-point, it will work.

You don't have to make one. All a mountpoint is meant for is a unique reference to a stream. The source client provides the name and icecast keeps a note of it. The point I mentioned before was that if icecast has not logged ANY attempt to stream then it hasn't seen the request. Any icecast based rejection like password failure is logged, but obviously firewall blocks or network misconfiguration or traktor not even attempting the connection is not something icecast will log.

If you are saying that no information appears in the logs about a source client trying to connect then it's not an icecast issue. If you can access the icecas web pages from the traktor machine then it's not a firewall issue, so the only thing left is traktor. It will be either a misconfiguration or you are not attempting a connection so you should query the docs for that or their support.
