Icecast Streaming Media Server

Hello IceCast Server Users,

So I am new to this Icecast Server thing and I need a complete help on how to setup everything so I can stream my audio to listeners. Also is this free to stream my music?

I plan to use SAM Broadcaster to stream my music but I dont know how to configure this with IceCast Server. If anyone can give me a complete guide how to setup everything I will greatly appreciate it. I know its much to ask but I need it. Thanks if you can

I guess you have downloaded icecast

open it up and go to the config file and edit these parts.....

Only replace the parts where i put CHANGEME


<authentication>
<source-password>CHANGEME</source-password>
<relay-password>CHANGEME</relay-password>
<admin-user>admin</admin-user>
<admin-password>CHANGEME</admin-password>
</authentication>

<hostname>YOUR IP HEAR</hostname>
<listen-socket>
<port>8000</port>


Save that file

Now go onto your routers admin panel normally ( 192.168.2.1 ) look in the routers manual or under nieth for admin address

and goto virtual servers or port forward [ look in manual for more info ]

now add ports 8000 & 8001 then apply them to your computer local IP

something like 192.168.2.XX ( xx represents your computers number )

as long as your ISP dont block ports then you should be fine.

Now go to sam broadcaster > clcik Desktop B (at the top) > add a stream to encoders > then press ok, start your server > then hit play in the encoders part then you should be broadcasting..
