Dear all,
I have the following situation and I trying to find out if icecast can support such a case:
I’m planning to set up an icecast web radio which will be hosted on a well known server in order to support a large amount of listeners and a high percentage of stability. There is going to be a large number of dj’s and they are going to broadcast from their home’s which are located in different countries! My concern is how am I going to handle switching among dj’s without having the stream cut? I would like to have advertisements or stations signal displayed when switching dj.
So, is it possible to have one more pc which will broadcast advertisements’ and playlist at predefined times?
I would appreciate any help on the above issues. First of all is this possible to achieve all these though icecast? And second, is there any proper software available for such ventures?
Thanks in advance! |

it will do what you desire, I am no expert but managed to get it setup in a similar fashion. you can use a 24/7 stream to a fallback mount point, then djs can connect and disconnect to an alternative mountpoint. When they aren't connected listeners will hear the fallback.
I think? that you could have nested mount points if you so desire. |
