I installed the icecast server from the rpm archive and this is my config:

I try to connect with OddCastV3 and with foobar2000 but everytime it tries to connect the linux shell says:

and what is this:

? Why should I have user/group karl ?

I'll have to check the specifics of that rpm but that is the source package so installing it is just the first stage and having root is ok for that. You'll have to unpack, build and then install the application using whatever settings locally. Usually though people just install the pre-built package for their distribution

Save yourself alot of grief and use the one in your synpic package maneger its icecast2 but it seems to work ok.
there will be some missing files when you try to start it but they are all in your manager just go bac add add them in _________________ Running intel core 2 duo 2.66....Gigabyte P35C- DS3R MOBO
4 GB RAM and a BFG NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS PCIe video card
Hardy 8.04 and linux puppy 4 |

Open a terminal

Job done. It's v 2.3.1 but it's far easier. |
