|
|
Hi,
I would like to relay my icecast stream to a shoutcast server for 2 reasons.
1. I would like my station to appear in the Shoutcast Directory.
2. I would like to be able to use my 'Who's Live" shoutcast module on my site to parse the metadata from the stream.
Now i have looked around for a guide but don't seem to be getting anywhere.
Ideally what I need is the config that I have to put in the Icecast config and then the config I would have to put in the shoutcast dnas config.
I am using a single IP with multiple ports for this btw, but I only wish to use a single broadcast relay.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Is this more than one mountpoint?
What's the audio source?
What the source client? |

thanks for your reply!
There are 2 mountpoints:
/protokolradio the live stream when a DJ connects to the server
/fallback the archive stream which runs continuously
The audio source is MP3, and the client is edcast.
This is merely for enabling a shoutcast source (which i currently have through stream transcoder, but I need the metadata to be parsed to shoutcast).

I would like to do this also. The problem is that the shoutcast server does not ask for a mountpoint when entering details of the server to relay.
Is it true that for this very reason Shoutcast server cannot relay Icecast server & never will be able to? |

Shoutcast is ancient and does not know about Icecast mount points. I don't see how this could work without a translator that listens to Icecast and gives to Shoutcast whatever it needs. |

afaik shoutcast can act as a relay, but it will request the / mountpoint, so you have to map that to the correct mountpoint within icecast. You may need to use a specific port for that alias if you want / to map to a web page normally.
