Icecast Streaming Media Server

Hi I am not a newbie as such to linux, but I am to casting.

I'm running a ubuntu box jaunty.

I've got jack, icecast, djplay and dj console installed.
do I need anything else?

What I would like to be able to do is:

Stream or cast accross my local network, to a windoz box, or a lappy running win7, via my router.

Is this possible.

The current release of icecast is 2.3.2, icecast 1.x support will be hard to find.

you may have both installed, we don't prevent that, but we only support the current releases and that config file is not for icecast 2.x.

I don't know djplay/dj console myself, but various source clients can be used to achieve what you have specified.
