Karl,
I am sorry. I am just trying to understand how things work here.
I didn't mean that I was specifically looking for "user" or "pass" but stating that in all the variables my script returned to me, "user" and "pass" were blank.
All the posted variables were:
action
server
port
client
mount
user
pass
ip and
agent
There were no variables as far as GET was concerned.
So, in my URL for the stream, I added ?user=&pass= but these were not found in the variables sent to the script.
I do however notice in the mount var, that the first variable I passed through, being "user", was included with the value. With this said, I am understanding now what you were talking about and how I could use it.
I will do some tests.
Thank you for taking the time to help me, I really do appreciate it. |

Karl,
After understanding what you said, I have now been able to make work what I wanted to do, and it works from the browser.
Trying to directly open the stream through a player needs authentication. This is exactly what I wanted.
Thank you so much for your assistance. |

Yeah, that is okay.
I will use what Karl suggested with the session= variable, and have the session randomly generated in the portal, updating the database. So when the URL auth kicks in, it has to have this updated session= else it wont work.
My users will be using the embeded flash player in the portal though, and not an m3u or anything of the sort. So the portal will automatically auth the user to listen to the stream.
So I should be good to go. Unless there is something I am missing. |
