|
|
| I run station ID intros on my shoutcast, realPlayer, AAC+. and QuickTime streams, which are set up with my streamhost. I would like to run a station ID intro for my icecast directory stream, too. However, my streamhost is saying: "Icecast server does not support intro files." Is this true? What is the problem with intro files for icecast? |

they are lying, intro support has been in icecast for a few years. The <intro> tag specifies the file to use. In the kh tree I can send the intro content via auth listener add.

I don't know what you mean by "kh tree". Will my streamhost know? I found them at the top of the radiotoolbox streamhost list. |

If they didn't know that icecast handled intros then they are unlikely to know what the kh tree is, but you did ask about intro file support. Just for reference the kh tree is just my development work to try out stuff before merging with trunk.

| I'm still a bit lost in the forest here. Would you please just post your email address, so he and you can sort this out? He set up the streamhost icecast encoder, so I'm sure he can deal with these lumber issues intelligently. |

you mean my address that is on my profile on the forum? as referenced by every one of my posts. If your provider has an icecast question then he can certainly ask.
