Hello
I’m running Icecast 2.3.2 with four radio scanner streams feeding the four different mount points.
My problem is bandwidth limitations. The feeds are quite popular, and to conserve bandwidth as much as possible I limit the number of listeners to the individual feeds, and automatically disconnect individual listeners after a set period of time. They can reconnect of course, but at least this eliminates those people not sitting at their computers, and those not aware of how to automatically reconnect.
What I’m noticing is that listeners now connect from the same IP address with the same or differing audio players, Blackberry and I-phones to get around these limitations. I see the same IP address four or five times connected simultaneously.
I did use the <deny> to eliminate all Blackberry use, since they all use similar IP addresses, but that was still a large file, and seems like overkill to eliminate just Blackberry users.
Does icecast have any way to limit connections to one, based on IP address, to either the entire program or individual mount points? If not, I think this would be a desirable feature for future versions.
Any suggestion, or another way around this problem is certainly appreciated.

The only two ways currently of having that are, to kill listeners who have a duplicate IP on the list clients page, means that reconnects would still show up, or use auth url and use the listener_add/_remove scripts to maintain a list of IPs of currently connected listeners. The latter would prevent the second connection from being established.
While this could be pushed into icecast (unique IPs) the question would be, server wide or just mountpoint. I suspect unique IPs per mount would be more common
