To be exact, this one:

http://www.internet-radio.org.uk

even though the only site I'm sending data to is dir.xiph.org. What irks me about this is that I appear in their dirlist, and it looks like I would be using one of their paid services, which I don't.

Is that site affiliated with Icecast in any way?

no, but they could be retrieving the directory or some part of it and populating their own directory.

Sorry to revive this oldish thread, I've monitored the behavior of the aforementioned website and frankly, I don't like it. The are listing my station on the same web page where they are trying to sell web hosting for web radios, thus creating the impression that my radio (and any other they grabbed from dir.xiph.org) is using their hosting services, which I am not.

I feel that this is a direct commercial exploitation without my consent or the consent of the Icecast community, and also an attempt at false advertising.

Since my source client is running on Windows, I cannot directly block the listener via referrer, maybe dir.xiph.org can do something about having their listing "hijacked" in this manner.

If I were in your boat, I would personally try to horse trade with them.

If they have enough bandwidth to host an YP, they have enough bandwidth to support your station with additional slots, refferal links to your station page.

If they want to be a pain in the ass about that, Just give me the word, and I will drop a line to my buddy at SESAC. They would love to hear about a website doing direct stream launches from a site, while turning a profit from it based on copywriter musical intelligence, which the broadcaster and his license /SWA licensing host has not given any consent to. That means easy game to their "Congrats, you just joined are license holders, and didn't know it" letter.

Then again, its UK so I would have to look up who fries these guys there. Maybe PBB?

Judging by the sound quality and altered audio processing from the original stations, It sounds like they are force streaming from client to server, no relay.
