Hi,
most probably a simple question with respect to DNLA capabilities.
Is Icecast "certified" according to DNLA so that for example a Sony Playstation 3 can recognize it and play streams served by Icecast ?
The idea is to access a continuously streamed Icecast MP3 stream from a Playstation 3 to play the music via the Playstation.
Has anyone experience with this scenario?
Thanks in advance

What's DNLA?
The first step is knowing what the acronym means for us poor guys that can't / won't afford a PS3.
Plus my luck is such that every Sony product I have ever owned breaks right after the warranty is up.
I really think that they have intelligent capacitors that get a message to rot right after the warranty is finished. Har Har.
Thanks! |

Hi all,
sorry for not being specific enough.
Here you are with the definition according to Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNLA
In short - it seems to be a standard used by manufacturers of consumer electronics to allow entertainment devices within the home to share their content with each other across a home network.
So the question remains. Is there a chance that Icecast can work with devices that support this standard - Icecast streaming music and the DNLA capable device (in this case Playstation 3 from Sony) using this stream to play the music ...
Thanks in advance
