Icecast Streaming Media Server

i can get it to play but only in certian players?
If i try and stream in mp3 it can be heard in itunes but not windows media or winamp?
but with vogorbis setting can be heard in windows and winamp but NOT ITUNES
HELP A NEWBIE OUT PLEASE GOING CRAZY

we do not have control over player providers so if they don't ship vorbis codecs (itunes) then the best you can do is install the codec yourself. As for mp3, both wmp and winamp can play mp3 streams from icecast so it is unclear on what the issue is. The most obvious things to prevent this working for are invalid extensions on the mountpoint name and whether VBR is used.

I would look at http://www.vorbis.com/ for the vorbis playback. I don't have any further specifics for itunes.

you can link to http://74.208.78.230:8000/live.mp3.m3u or create your own playlist on the icecast server webroot or on your own website. As long as you refer to http://74.208.78.230:8000/live.mp3 in the playlist then you should be fine.
