|
|
My Icecast service stopped again. Using Icecast 2.3.2-kh27.6 (win32). As with the previous occurrences the last error message logged was
| Code: |
| [2010-11-19 21:55:28] WARN format-mp3/ no frames processed for /2ngtest |
This, and the other stream on the server are aac+. The encoder is Edcast (Oddcast). Anything I can check on my end? |

I've been hitting different areas, there are some flv issues that needed fixing up and I think I've resolved those. Can you confirm whether flv clients are being used?

Yes. The "listen" pages for both streams on this server land on a page with the JW Player. One stream is also used on iTunes clients, but I would say the majority of listeners are listening via the JW Player. |

| Great! I'll install it sometime this weekend and let you know if I run into any more issues. Thanks Karl. |

kh27.7 does not work. The service appears to be started and the encoders seem to indicate they are connected and streaming. At first I can connect via the web interface but then the Icecast server seems to crash and I can't connect. The Windows event viewer indicates Icecast crashed. No real description of the error though. Also if I try to stop or restart the service Windows complains of scripting errors!
So...back to kh27.6.
EDIT: I should note it works fine on a Vista box I use for testing. On the production Windows Server 2003 box, it does not. |

I'm not sure what scripting errors there could be and none of the changes since 27 (and much earlier) are in the win32 specific parts. Over the weekend I did identify and correct a bug in the stream shut down/restart relay code that could cause an issue in certain cases. I can get a win32 binary up today. As always if you email the error log then that will be helpful.

Funny thing is, Icecast did not log any errors. All I've got is what Windows logged:
| Code: |
| Faulting application icecastService.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module icecastService.exe, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00023809. |

the event log won't be useful, the error log may be more helpful because it will tell me what was going on at the time.

At log level 3 it did not log any errors at all. Nothing. I can set the log level to 4 and try again this evening. Maybe the debug mode will reveal something useful. |

I've uploaded icecast2_win32_v2.3.2-kh27.8_setup.exe which should resolve the case I mentioned earlier.

| Well, it was OK for a while with kh28. Icecast has crashed about 4 times in the past two weeks. As with the previous occurances it crashed seconds after logging the "WARN format-mp3/ no frames processed for /2ngtest" error message. |
