Hello everyone. This is my first post so please let me know if im doing anything wrong.

I was hoping the community here might suggest a robust hardware solution for our source clients.

Our setup:

A large NPR affiliate providing a 24/7 talk radio signal
1 Icecast Ogg stream
1 Icecast Mp3 stream
Both streams are 48kbps. The Mp3 stream cannot be run as VBR.

The whole thing is currently running on Windows OS(lynx2 card), through a SAMEncoder Winamp plugin as the source client. We have an orban Optimod feeding into the lynx2 card so the sound is great.

Im looking for any advice concerning PC hardware for source clients. Space is an issue so I am currently looking at small form factor atx setup (shuttle box or something).

Ive looked at non-PC hardware solutions such as the Barix instreamers but they apparently only stream VBR and we need CBR.

Would 2 shuttle PCs running some flavor of linux do the trick? Our audio engineer has advised that we continue using the Lynx2 cards so the hardware will need a PCI slot as well.

I am also interested to know if there's anything out there like the Barix Instreamers that support CBR.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

Best
