|

I'd like to know if there is a convenient port range for icecast and shoutcast streams I can set on centova, so those streams are not under those commonly banned ports by office firewalls and system administrators. I'm using currently 8100 port range and I have one stream which can't be listened in some public offices!
I think that port range 8xxx is commonly banned so I don't know if it's maybe better to use another port range less prone to be banned. If you have some earlier experience on that, I'd appreciate your comment!
Thanks in advance! |

port 80 is commonly used in such cases, but there may be others that are allowed.

Thanks karl, I've heard some range ports like (7100 - 71xx) and (15000 - 15xxx) are less prone to be banned, may I use higher port range as I want to? let's say, 60xxx port range! if you have any sugestion about this, I'd appreciate it!
Thanks again for your reply! |

icecast does not put any restriction the port range, just specify the ports and if they are available then it will use them.
