It would be hard to make that question any more vague

why is the password 'hackme'?
why 3 different passwords?
why have I used 2 terms which don't actually come from an icecast2 xml file

Why "Error during send: Mount failed on http://192.0.0.1:8000/live, error: Login failed"?

Why Login failed?

one possibility is that the tag in icecast.xml is actually called <source-password> as a global setting and <password> in the <mount>, not encoder_password. Another possibility is that a limit has been reached like <sources> or <clients>. Check the error log

Can I use only icecast.conf file (without icecast.xml) or not?
Icesast was installed from FreeBSD port and icecast.xml doesn't exist (find / -name "icecast.xml").

I use this config: http://www.unixreview.com/documents/s=8274/ur0306i/ur0306i_l1.htm
(all settings is my)

That is not an icecast 2 configuration file, I'm guessing that you have a really old icecast version installed. Make sure you have the latest version as that is what we support. The software is on www.icecast.org.

I got similar problem. But!

I'm tryin' to run three streams, but so far managed to run only two. I've changed setting in icecast.xml:
Code:
<sources>5</sources>

(But icecast admin page still shows: "clients: 2". Bug?)
Prepared three ices.conf files, which differs only in playlists and mount points. And, I am able to run only first two ices, no matter which ones (1st and 2nd, or 2nd and 3rd, or 1st and 3rd). Third one gives:
Code:
Error during send: Mount failed on http://127.0.0.1:8000/pointX, error: Login failed

Using icecast 2.3.1 and ices 0.2 both built from sources.

oops, instead of:
Code:
(But icecast admin page still shows: "clients: 2". Bug?)

should be:
Code:
sources: 2
