I have two Windows 7 computers networked to a router. The server is running BUTT. I'm able to stream audio on port 80 using localhost. My question is, how do I access this stream on the client machine as if it were on the public Internet and not localhost? I have entered my fixed IP address into the xml file.

<hostname>xx.xx.xx.xx</hostname>

I've tried entering xx.xx.xx.xx and xx.xx.xx.xx/stream into the client browser and the browser reports that it is unable to connect. I am able to ping the server, though.

very often the router will not bounce packets back into the LAN when you specify the external IP. You could alias the name locally to the LAN IP instead of the WAN IP.
