|

Our community radio station is using icecast server on a PC at the station to receive a live stream from a remote source client at music festivals. The remote stream is mounted at /stream and a listen client in the station plays the live stream over the air.
If the remote stream, then mount file /fallback.mp3 starts playing.
In normal operation, the number of listen clients connected to /fallback.mp3 will be 0.
If the remote operator is not paying attention, not listening the station's live stream, then he or she may not notice that the fallback has started to play and can check the internet link from the source client to the server.
Can we get icecast server to do anything other than update its admin web page if the number of listeners to the /fallback.mp3 mount goes from 0 to any other number? Such as run an external batch file (Windows 7) which might send an email to the remote operator's smartphone? |

For windows you are limited, on unix type system you can run an on-disconnect script to do any external notification. You could use an auth block to notiify (url option mount_remove), via say php, that the stream went down
