To those who produce the Icecast Directory: what...are...you....thinking?
Sure the Icecast Directory has a sleek new look. That's nice.
But you now have a bazillion (many of them totally nonsensical) genres to pick from...and even worse, you are rewarding radio stations that have zero listenership or 1 listener...and punishing those of us who have built some kind of audience by burying us in a random heap listing in our particular genres. Isn't that what the random home page is for?
Can you please have tags for the top genres once again and list according to the most popular stations? |

Hi, we are currently working on the new directory and it is not finished yet.
We just did a short test where we switched them around so we could get actual real-world servers to find issues. |
