It is a sad day, after just over 20 years of operation, this forum has to close due to the UK Online Safety Act 2023, which comes into force today 25th July 2025.

"User-to-user services"
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2023/50/contents/enacted

Forums are now legally obligated to:

* Perform formal risk assessments
* Moderate all user-generated content for illegal or harmful material
* Possibly age-gate or remove content deemed harmful to children
* Maintain compliance officers and audit logs
* Risk Ofcom sanctions for non-compliance

Which simply isn't possible for us.

Thank you to all for contributing, and to the volunteer moderators over many years and many hours for all their hard work.
