Icecast Streaming Media Server

After starting icecast server.... in real player, if u give http://ipaddress:port/songmname , the song starts playing but now if u stop the icecast server the song should stop playing as icecast sever is a streaming server but in reality song won't stop playing, it will continue till the end.

can you clarify me whether real player downloads the file when a request is made....

It's certainly possible that a player downloads the whole content before playing but as the content could be infinite, it's more likely that it has some large buffer which contains the content you asked for.
