hi everyone,

I am fresh new about this whole streaming thing. Would like to have your help on my issue.

I am using both win32 version of ezstream and icecast 2.3.1 on a windows 2003 server box. I can have my stream playing well when the only issue here is that I have specified the bitrate of the only stream at 128kbit/s but my winamp player is receiving 320kbit/s stream. All songs on my playlist have 128k quality.

This 320kbit/s stream is eating many of my bandwidth and I believe it is causing some sound quality problem. All I need is 128k stream.

What could be wrong at here?

To do what you want, you will have to re-encode the incoming files to the required bitrate, you can't just tell icecast the rate you want. Look at the samples for reencoding or use soemthing like ices 0.x
