Hi,
I'm happily running ices as the source for my server and am very pleased with it!
I just very badly want to be able to go to the 'next' random song in my playlist. I've been nosing through the forums for an hour or so, looking for a simple script to do this [as I have no scripting experience other than PHP] and have remained empty handed.
I'm running apache, mysql, and php, so I think I should be set if someone could help me out with a PHP script, or explain how to use a perl / python script, ...but I really don't know where to start.

Once you're sure you've got your server running fine [I'm using shoutcast sv_serv] You need to install ices, create a playlist.txt, and edit your config file, usually in /usr/local/etc
Put in the information and point it to that playlist.txt file.
As long as you've set everything correctly you should be able to just run it via typing "ices".
