Icecast Streaming Media Server

Hello,

I went through documentation and searched the Google for answer to this, but to no avail. I am sorry if the answer to this question is obvious for some, but believe me, I am stuck.

What I want to do is this: record a radio show into one-hour long Ogg Vorbis file and upload it to a site. I want to make a link on my site, so when a visitor clicks on the http://mysite.com:8000/radioshow-17-08-2006.ogg.m3u, he gets a stream of the file from the beginning and not just a file listed in .m3u which is then opened like a regular file, albeit frame by frame by the audio player on the client side. If the file's location is read from the playlist, it can be downloaded in whole from the site and I want to prevent that (ie. that happens when i used <fileserve>: Icecast acts like a HTTP server).

I've looked into ices and I think that it can be somehow programmed by an "external" signal from a php script to start the stream from the beginning if the link is clicked, but then it would restart the stream for every listener who is already connected to it?

Can you please point me out in right direction?

I've just noticed this topic. I want to do the similar thing, ie. radio shows in one directory and visitors can hear the stream when they click on a link like http://mysite.com/radioshows/2006-08-17.ogg.m3u and the stream is played from the beggining to the end for each visitor.

Is it possible to do that?

I've done something similar to this for a local radio station.

Here's an example. I stream our "Top 30" on demand:
